Boycott Israel Updated List

Hello brothers,

I invest in the US stock market, and since the beginning of the war on Gaza, I’ve been paying a close attention to all corporations that could be connected to Israel in anyway, so I can consider if I should invest in it or boycott it … I went through over 1150 stock symbol that were marked as (Shariah Compliant) by Zoya, and studied each one of them closely to see if they’re related to Israel and categorized them in this manner:

1- Green: (Okay), no issue found.

2- Yellow: (Okay, But), still but with some warning signs (i.e. a Healthcare company that operates in Israel but not involved in anything outside the medical field…etc).

3- Orange: (Concern), something is not okay or of concern (i.e. Substantial existence in Israel, too many investments over there, or a company involved in some Haram or controversy activities even if marked as Shariah Compliant).

4- RED: (WARNING), (This’s when a company is DIRECTLY involved in something wrong, even if tagged as Shariah-compliant (i.e. A company works in Defense industry and/or is active in Israel, as I presume that any Defense industry in the US is currently being used against our brothers in Gaza, the middle east and the rest of the world).

I would like to share this work with everyone here in our community, please keep this file with you and share it with other communities. I added a (Reference) column beside each company stock symbol that contains URL links of all evidence I found online while searching this company so you can check and investigate for yourselves.

Also note that I started this effort over 2 years ago, some of the stock symbols here were marked as (Shariah Compliant) back then but some of them might have been changed to (Non-Shariah Compliant)… So, always check Zoya app before investing, this list is a study for the sake of the Boycott campaign, and is not a Shariah-Compliance reference, we use Zoya and similar apps for this.

Thank you for doing this work. You have put in a ton of effort into this and I appreciate your persistence and details in the report.

As you mentioned the list gets outdated very quickly, probably every quarter if financial screens are applied for Shariah compliance. New companies get added, and some change their approach and should come off the list. You also run the risk of being labelled as subjective in your analysis. even though you are providing your reasoning with links.

I have used a slightly different approach for the same purpose. It is not as exhaustive as your excellent work but a lot faster and backed up by 3rd party publicly available data. My screens for this purpose are:

  1. Companies identified by UN OHCHR as doing business in illegal settlements
  2. Companies identified by WhoProfits.org as profiting from the occupation
  3. Companies with headquarters in Israel per their SEC filings.
    Note: Arms and Ammo gets screened out in a different screen for me. I also thought about pulling information on the board of directors and looking up their statements, etc. but that gets out of control very quickly and runs a significant risk of being wrong)

I ran the list of companies in your PDF through my screens and I see 12 companies below (11 are listed and Axon is the 12th one under Weapons and Ammo category per their SEC filing) hitting my screens. So, your work is clearly more exhaustive, and my approach is more concrete in determination and faster - about 5 minutes to run through the 1153 tickers.

(290 of the 1153 tickers did not resolve for me btw - probably due to mergers, non-US listed, or incorrect tickers).

The companies are: ABNB, AMZN, AXON, BKNG, CAMT, CAT, CSCO, CVX, GOOGL, MSFT, MSI, ORCL.

Thanks for sharing your review … I’m delighted to see that you found some useful information in my file … And yes, my work was more detailed oriented, and more exhaustive , I was just working on this analysis during the war on Gaza, and I was so frustrated with how much corporations and businessmen are willing to support Israel without fearing any consequences, and I felt like I should do something, so I made sure to go through every tiny detail in each and every company I could afford to work on, to expose those who support the genocidal state of Israel.

By the way, I’m not saying to boycott or not to boycott any company, those were all Shariah Compliant at some point… This depends on your willing to support Gaza in anyway you can … And also, to expose companies who work in the Defense industry over there, cause I heard from Muslim scholars that it’s Haram to invest in something that’s directly involved in wars against Muslim people.
