Has anyone donated Zakat via a DAF (donor advised fund) before? If so, how do you make sure that the donation is allocated as Zakat-only by the charity? I am planning to use CharityVest and they mail paper checks to most charities.
You can designate the purpose as Zakat. Just select “other purpose” then you can enter that. This is assuming they are zakat eligible and accept it according to your research.
If you use Zoya’s in-app zakat donation feature, all donations are automatically passed to the receiving organizations with the “for zakat purposes” designation. The feature is powered by every.org which supports various payment methods, including Charityvest.
